Room – GHH 101
Committee members present:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.
Item #1: Registrar, at chair’s request, explained to the committee how to access and track course proposals on Curricunet at the FSCC level. At the February meeting, the FSCC will begin reviewing proposals submitted through Curricunet.
Item #2: New Proposals Approved:
|Identifying Information||Description of proposal||Motion (maker, second)||Vote outcome|
|4 New courses for the LALS Minor||Approve as proposed (Menton, McMullen)
Comment: When proposing new courses for an interdisciplinary minor, such as the LALS minor, the proposers should have concrete plan of who is going to teach all of these new courses.
|AS 2013-48||LALS Minor||Approve as proposed (Menton, McCullen)
FSCC Chair and proposers modified the proposal per FSCC recommendations from previous FSCC meeting.
Item #3 Proposals Tabled:
|NC PA519||This is a graduate course in SJS called “Lean Thinking & Lean Mgmt.”||Tabled (Menton, McMullen)
The committee requests that the proposer contacts the GSB Dean and the Chair of the Management department for their awareness and comment, since it contains the word “management” in it. The main issue is that this course may not be in compliance with AACSB accreditation guidelines.
Item #4: Old Business:
|CC MNC POLSC CC||Change to the requirements of the Polsci. Core Concentration: to allow any 200, 300, or 400 level course to count||Proposal was tabled last year. Committee is seeking clarification from the Political Science representative on the FSCC on the impact of this change on the Political Science Minor.||No vote was taken on this, but the proposal remains tabled pending clarification.|
