Minutes of the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee Meeting
Wednesday, October 15, 2014
Room – GHH 101
Committee members present:
Al Cutting, Anthony Hollingsworth (Chair), Sue McMullen, Chris Menton, Joan Romano, Registrar (ex officio), Charles Thomas, Yajni Warnapala, Ann Winfield
The meeting was called to order at 2:07 p.m.
Item 1: Committee members asked Registrar for any announcements regarding Curricunet. The Registrar reported the following:
1. It will be possible to record sessions
2. All-faculty meeting dates will be posted shortly
3. Academic Affairs is looking into how to archive the data stored on the currently used academic petition website
4. Training sessions will be announced for deans and curriculum committee members.
Item 2: The committee answered several questions about procedures for new proposals submitted by the Honor’s Program. The committee unanimously agreed that since the Honor’s Program is seeking its own curricular designation, proposals would need to follow the same procedures as any new program, course, etc.

MC-Core 102 Title and description change Approve on the condition that the first part of the first line of new text is removed or modified (“This course, which is taught by faculty from the Departments of History & American Studies and Politics & International Relations”).

The concern is that the course description with the new line as is, is not consistent with the other CORE 10X classes – none specify from which department the course is offered.
