  1. Continued Business  –  University plagiarism policy

Questions raised during discussion of current academic standards policies:

Do we have a (academic integrity) problem?

Do we have data on breaches on academic integrity?

Can we determine a sense of academic integrity on campus?

Is there database on individuals and their offenses?

School level academic standards committee?  How are these convened?…do these function? How who is chair determined?

Can students appear before these committees to defend themselves in person, in all schools?

Do the deans keep records of incidents? Where? How? Who has access?  How does a faculty member get access if needed?

There should be two repositories; deans level of each school and academic affairs office.  Is this the case?

How does this all relate to FERPA?

Should faculty member be required to report incidents to dean?  It is already in the catalog.

Should University academic appeals committee also hear and keep records on issues of academic integrity?

How long are records kept?
